Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish fashion. The group was not able to achieve major success on the scene in the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford disappeared for a few time from the scene after the two albums didn't get any attention. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge hit songs. The success of her was not long-lasting and, for a few additional years she was absent. Then she returned after the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
